What to do if you would like to train with the HSK
Below are guidelines
Check out the web site, I am sure you have done it already.
Ring sensei to confirm you would like to come along and watch a lesson or two.
Those student who do ring before hand, sensei will find time to talk to you and
answer any questions that you may have. If you want to just turn up and watch
by all means do so, but please note sensei may be to busy to talk to you in
great detail and may give you some info sheets to go away and read.
New students are important to the HSK but those in the dojo come first.
Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian arrange their first lesson
or come along with them.
Arrange a date for your first lesson. Sensei will before the lesson explain
what to expect in your first 4 weeks. During this time you are treated as a
visitor. After the 4 weeks you must then decide to become a student and
obtain the relevant licences and membership or leave.
Talk to students, ask them questions get a feel for karate.
Parents, talk to the other parents, see what they have to say about
the HSK and how their children are getting on.
Don't be afraid to ask personal or difficult questions of sensei.
All karate instructors should be able to show you their qualifications, insurance
details and more.
