JSKA UK 2008 Championship (hyperlink)
For all means for all students of the JSKA UK, i.e. all of us. For HSK means just for students who pay and train with sensei Harrison. Other dojos will have there own news letters.

JSKA World Championship (August 2008) I have now had meetings with most students who want to compete in the world championship. I now need to see everyone else who wants to attend and be part of the JSKA UK England Karate Team. Please ring me 0800 612 8439 to arrange a meeting. Once we send of the entries for the championship we won’t be able to add anyone else. We plan to post all entries on the 18th July.
Entry monies and party monies, all due by the 11th July. Between now and the 11th, Please see me, pay monies and check the entry forms I have for you.
Extra training for JSKA UK Team England members, (no extra charge),
Mon, Camberley Arena, 7.30pm to 8.30pm and 8.30pm to 9pm
Tue, Basingstoke sports centre, 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Thur, Yateley Manor Dojo, 7.30pm to 8.30pm and 8.30pm to 9pm
Fri, RAF Odiham dojo, 7.30pm to 8.30pm and 8.30pm to 9pm (except last fri each month due to gradings)
Some sessions will be taught others just for you to practice. The sessions run along side the normal lesson.

JSKA UK annual Championship (6th, 7th and 8th June 2008) Well done to all those that took part. The results and photos are on the jska.co.uk web site. Thanks also to Mark for his hit man suit.

Mini Tournament, we have been holding some Mini Tournaments between Jan and August 2008. This is so that students can get more practice in competing and for those that want too, to practice their judging and reffering skills.
These Mini tournaments will take place on Friday’s at the Odiham dojo. The dojo will be split into two, one half for normal training and the other half for the Mini Tournament
The Mini Tournaments are open to all JSKA UK students.

JSKA UK World Championship track suit and karate gi. Blitz have now done these. You can then order them from your sensei. New karate gi’s will also be available from blitz with the JSKA UK logo pre printed.

I have some bonus badges and belts from previous gradings. If I owe you a badge or belt, let me know.
For HSK
Due to the JSKA World Championship there will be no lesson on the 22nd August or the 23rd August. All students should be at the championship. Other dojos will advise their students. This has been in previous news letters.
For HSK
Annual training fees, some student’s annual fees run out this month. If you want to continue to pay annually please pay by the end of the month. Annual training fee is, pay for 10 months and get 2 months free.

Sunday training during the championship & RED MAN. Mark from RSKC will be attending with his red man outfit. This suit allows for full contact to be applied to him without him getting injured. All students attending the training on Sunday will have a chance to punch and kick Mark without worry of injury to him or yourself.

For HSK
Grading reminder, if you grade with sensei Harrison you must hand in your licence books and grading fee at least the day before the grading. If you bring these in on the day you will still be able to grade but will be treated as a visitor grading. Visitors grading fees are £5 more and they don’t get a free belt if they pass. Recent grading: results will be notified after the championship.

Trip to Japan in 2009. We will be arranging a trip to Japan in June 2009. This will be for all adult (18+) students. I have now asked sensei Dieter Flindt who in turn will talk to Abe sensei. If you are interested in going let me know and I will keep you up to date with all details as we get them.

Blitz have now done these. They however made some mistakes and we are having to have them re-done. If there not back in time for our competition then I will bring the ones we have so far and this will give you an idea of what they will look like. You can then order them from your sensei.
For HSK
Special competitions last month (May) at HSK dojos, I was giving money away, to students who managed, 20, 50 or 100 press ups. Well done to all our students who managed to do the press ups. The month cost me just over £100.
