Grading; last Friday every other month.

The above training means students can train 5 days a week. There are some FREE half sessions each week.

Licence £ see sensei Harrison, (2007) includes JKI, JSKA, HSK fee and insurance.

All licence's and memberships run from 1st April until 31st March.

The training fees cover all / any lessons that you do in the month payable by direct debit or standing order only.

Annual fee, pay for 10 months and get 12 months training.

Family training fees, first two pay full fees all others only pay half.

Instructors: The HSK have over 20 instructors. All instructors are CRB checked and vetted by the HSK.

 

HSK Affiliations, Japan Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA), Japan Karate-do International JKI), World JKA alliance (WJKA)   European JKA alliance (EJKA), Karate England (KE).

The SLFoC karate club was established in May 1992 under the umbrella of the Basingstoke SKC.

The Camberley Shotokan Karate Club was established in May 1993 with the first lesson under the KUGB taking place on the 21st June. In June 1997 the Camberley SKC joined the SLFoC SKC and left the KUGB to become affiliated to the Japan Karate Association (UK).

In November 1997 the Camberley SKC and the SLFoC SKC formed the Hampshire Shotokan Karate.

Clubs to be known as HSK SLFoC Dojo and HSK Yateley Centre Dojo.

Jan 2000 the HSK opened another dojo in the Yateley Manor School, Dojo to be known as HSK Yateley Manor Dojo. 

In August 2000 the HSK opened up a club in the Arena Sports Centre in Camberley. This dojo is to be known as HSK Camberley Dojo. In April 2002 the HSK SLFoC Dojo changed its name to HSK Basingstoke Dojo. June 2002 RAF Odiham Dojo opens, “HSK Odiham Dojo”. Feb 2003 Basingstoke2 Dojo opens.

All members must obtain a JKI licence, which not only allows the holder to train with the club but also allows them to take part in the various JKI events such as gradings, courses and competition's. But most importantly the licence covers the member under the EKGB insurance scheme.

The cost of the licence is renewed yearly at the beginning of April and is obtained through the club secretary. Cheques payable to HSK. The HSK will then issue the licence. All students are registered with the JSKA in Japan.

All members must wear a white karate Gi, karate suit. These can be bought from any good sports shop or be bought here direct from the club.

Every month there is a grading for those students who wish to and are eligible to grade. Sensei Harrison who is an international qualified JSKA grading examiner conducts the gradings. The grading date and venue will be given to students at least 4 weeks before the grading.

The HSK have a board of members with any student or parent with an idea, question or comment on any activity of the HSK can have it brought to the attention of the HSK board. The HSK will meet at least once every 3 month.

New students are allowed to train for 4 weeks before they must apply for The JKI licence. Only HSK membership may take advantage of the reduced monthly training fees, all other students will be charged the visitor lesson fee. The monthly training fee is due the first of the month.
